Ingredients Needed
chocolate whey protein powder – the base of this recipe! I used Clean Simple Eats, but you can use any whey protein powder you love. Chocolate adds that rich, dessert-like flavor, but feel free to experiment with different flavors if you want to mix things up. frozen banana (optional) – this is totally optional, but adding frozen banana gives the fluff a creamy texture and a natural sweetness. Plus, it helps with that thick, fluffy consistency we all love. almond milk – just a little bit of almond milk is all you need to get things blending smoothly. I like using unsweetened almond milk, but any non-dairy or regular milk will work. ice – the key to making this fluffy and thick! You’ll need ice to give it that light, airy texture. peanut butter (optional) – for a little extra flavor and creaminess, add a spoonful of peanut butter. skinny dipped peanut butter cup (for topping) – I like adding a chopped Skinny Dipped peanut butter cup on top for a fun and delicious finishing touch. It’s the perfect little bit of crunch to complement the fluffiness!
How to Make Protein Fluff
Topping Ideas
I personally love keeping things simple with just a drizzle of peanut butter or some fresh berries on top, but there are so many ways you can enjoy this protein fluff! Here are a few ideas to get creative with your toppings!
Fresh Fruit – You can’t go wrong with fresh fruit! I love adding berries like blueberries or raspberries for a pop of color and natural sweetness. Sliced bananas or some diced mango also work really well if you’re feeling a tropical vibe. Chopped Nuts – For some extra crunch and healthy fats, sprinkle on a handful of chopped almonds, walnuts, or pecans. Granola – A little granola on top is always a good idea! It adds a nice crunch and turns the protein fluff into more of a parfait-style treat. Cacao Nibs or Dark Chocolate Chips – If you’re like me and always need a little chocolate, a sprinkle of cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips is the perfect addition. They add just the right amount of chocolatey goodness without going overboard. Nut Butter Drizzle – Can’t get enough peanut butter? Drizzle a bit more on top, or switch things up with almond butter or sunflower seed butter. Coconut Flakes – Sprinkle some unsweetened coconut flakes over your fluff. It gives it that chewy texture and a subtle sweetness that pairs so well with the peanut butter and banana.
Storing Protein Fluff
This recipe is really best enjoyed right away as it will likely lose that fluffiness when stored. But, if you do have leftovers you can store in the refrigerator for one day.
