How the  Celebrating Mothers Day Tradition Started

Mothers day is celebrated world wide in different patterns but with same sentiments. In India we compare  our mothers to god, actually I feel these relationships should be celebrated not just one day but everyday. Dedicating this one day to her is not enough but as a Mother I know I certainly would not mind a special dedicated day as well.  DO you know formal celebration of a day to honour mother goddesses is first recorded in ancient Rome and Greece. The modern precedent for Mother’s Day is the early Christian festival known as “Mothering Sunday.” The mothering Sunday transformed slowly into mother’s day when the children presented their mother with gifts and flowers. From the 1900s onwards until the present, mother’s day is celebrated on second Sunday of may except for Thailand where they celebrate it on their queens birthday! Isn’t it great to see how the world walks along with you to honour mothers. Enough food for thought! lets move on to arranging this beautiful Sunday brunch. Don’t shy away from making this a ‘perfectly organised’ brunch. I am planning to make a super easy menu or may be take her out for a lunch date with my sister and treat myself too 😀 . Why… I am a mother too 😛 So, slip into her shoes , set up a bright popping summer brunch for your mom, yourself, your aunt , grandmother and all the motherly figures who have always had your back. Give them the celebration they deserve with this food de tour of the world on one table.  Or may be if it sounds too overwhelming cut a few items from the menu order in few things and cook few from this list. Whatever works for you. Listing below not so complicated but totally showstopper recipes which you and your team can prepare by the afternoon. I will add a few extra links as alternative recipes. You are going to be great even if you are not such a cooking enthusiast because it is for her 🙂 who made you!
