Instant Pot is MultiCooker

Before buying instant pot let me tell you you will save time because it cooks faster than most of kitchen appliances. The second thing you are going to save space because it is kind of multi-cooker. Slow-cooker, pressure cooker, saute pan, steamer, yogurt maker, chili pot and rice cooker it is all rolled into one. So, by using the instant pot you are going to save space.

Instant Pot Can Replace Pressure Cooker

If you are used to of pressure cooker, it does pretty much everything a pressure cooker does. But the pressure cooker recipes require a little bit of tweaking in terms of time and process. A normal pressure Cooker works at slightly higher pressure (15psi) as compared to the instant pot which works at 11.6psi. That means slightly lesser pressure than a regular pressure cooker, which means you have to cook the recipe couple of extra minutes.

Should You Buy Instant Pot if you Already have Pressure Cooker?

When I shared the first Instant pot video recipe there were many Indian readers who were curious and some of them asked about why buy extra gadget when they have a pressure cooker. My honest answer is, there is no pressing need to buy if you have extra storage space for a rice cooker, slow cooker, and pressure cooker. My reason to buy one is I need maximum utilization of my home kitchen space so I am looking to phase out all these gradually and use the instant pot instead. The second reason, I find it less messy as pretty much everything is done in one pot and every time I cook I don’t have to deal with cleaning splash marks on my cooking top :D. In fact, I am thinking of buying another steel insert for the Instant pot that way I can cook two dishes in succession for a meal without the need of washing the first one.
