4.78 21 Published Jul 15, 2023, Updated Feb 16, 2024 This recipe is my take on the blueberry yogurt clusters trend that went completely viral thanks to Lemons and Lucy on TikTok. I shared my version on Instagram a few weeks ago and couldn’t wait to get it up on the blog! There are many different variations of this recipe out there, but I’m loving this chocolate strawberry banana combo… it gives me banana split vibes, which I’m here for!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Easy to make: This is an easy recipe that comes together quickly with just 7 simple ingredients! Perfect for summer: These frozen treats are a refreshing treat to enjoy during hot summer days. Customizable: Feel free to make this recipe your own! Kid-approved: This is a recipe the whole family will love! And it’s the perfect recipe to involve your kiddos in. They’ll love drizzling on the chocolate and sprinkling the crushed peanuts on top. Meal prep-friendly: Prepare a big batch and freeze for a quick sweet treat anytime.

Ingredients Needed

fresh strawberries and banana – the fruit we’re using in this recipe. You’ll want to chop them up into bite-sized pieces so they freeze faster. plain greek yogurt – adds some creaminess and protein to these fruit clusters! I recommend using plain full-fat yogurt for the best results. honey – just a touch for some natural sweetness. The honey pairs perfectly with the yogurt and fruit. dark chocolate chips – we’re melting chocolate chips to drizzle over the yogurt clusters after the fruit freezes. The chocolate should harden quickly when drizzled over the frozen fruit. I used Lily’s dark chocolate chips because they are sweetened with stevia and low in sugar, but you can use any brand you prefer. coconut oil – helps to thin out the chocolate a bit, making it easier to drizzle. roasted and salted peanuts – what’s a banana split without peanuts?! I went for roasted and salted peanuts, which add a nice salty crunch that pairs perfectly with the sweet clusters.

How to Make

Make yogurt clusters: In a medium bowl, combine your chopped strawberries, banana, yogurt and honey together. Next, spoon out portions of your fruit and yogurt mixture onto the baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pop the baking sheet in the freezer for about one hour to set. Melt chocolate: While your clusters are firming up, it’s time to melt your chocolate! Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second increments until melted. Alternatively, you can use a double boiler to melt the chocolate. Coat clusters: When your yogurt bites are solid and the chocolate is melted, carefully drizzle each frozen cluster with the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s evenly coated but not completely dipped. This method keeps the chocolate from hardening too quickly from the cold. Top and chill: Top your clusters with the chopped peanuts before the chocolate hardens. Once all of your yogurt clusters are coated in chocolate pop the baking sheet back in the freezer until the chocolate has set.

Substitutions & Notes

Fruit – If you prefer to use a different fruit, go for it! I bet any variety of berries, kiwi, pineapple, mango, etc. would all be delicious. Yogurt – Feel free to use flavored yogurt if that’s what you have on hand. I bet vanilla yogurt would add a nice flavor! Just be mindful of how much added sugar is in your yogurt. If you’re using a yogurt with added sugar you could probably skip the honey. Dairy-free – If you need these yogurt clusters to be dairy-free feel free to swap the Greek yogurt for a dairy-free yogurt of choice. I like the CULINA Plain & Simple Coconut Yogurt and siggi’s Plain Plant Based Yogurt. Honey – If you’re not a fan of honey or need this recipe to be vegan, use maple syrup instead! Peanuts – Don’t have peanuts on hand or have an allergy? Skip them all together or swap them with another nut like cashews, almonds, pecans or walnuts.

Variations

There are so many ways to customize these frozen yogurt clusters! I can already see myself making this recipe all summer long in different variations. Here are some ideas:

Peanut butter banana: Mix in some peanut butter with the yogurt and fruit for more of a nutty flavor! Tropical: Swap the strawberries and banana with mango or pineapple chunks and instead of topping these clusters with peanuts use shredded coconut. For even more of a tropical flare, you could add a dash of vanilla extract and use coconut yogurt instead of Greek yogurt! Blueberry chocolate: Use fresh blueberries instead of strawberries and banana. The combo of blueberries + chocolate is so good. Fresh raspberries would also be delicious! Chocolate sea salt: Instead of the chopped peanuts, add a sprinkle of sea salt on top for a salty-sweet combo. I love Maldon flaky sea salt.

How to Store

I recommend storing any leftovers of your chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters in an airtight container in the freezer until you’re ready to enjoy! I’ve been using my Stasher bags for mine. When ready to enjoy, I like to grab one cluster from the freezer a few minutes before eating, just to let it soften up the tiniest bit. These clusters will keep up to 3 months in the freezer, but I bet they won’t last that long! Don’t store these in the fridge as they’ll melt and become a big goopy mess.
