4.84 10 Published Feb 03, 2024 This bark starts with a base layer of sliced strawberries. You top them with a layer of peanut butter and then a final layer of chocolate. It reminds me of chocolate covered strawberries but with a nutty twist and the flavor is sooo good.
Ingredients Needed
strawberries – the fruit we’re using in this recipe. peanut butter – this is a key ingredient to get that peanut butter chocolate flavor combo. Just be sure to get a natural peanut butter that is drippy so it will be easy to spread. I’ve been using the Trader Joe’s brand lately, but Crazy Richard’s is another great option. chocolate chips – I like using dark chocolate chips, but feel free to use what ever you have on hand. coconut oil – this is just to thin the chocolate mixture so it’s easier to spread. flaky sea salt – I love adding a little flakey sea salt to my chocolate desserts for extra flavor, but this is optional!
How to Make Strawberry Bark
Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment and arrange strawberry slices into a rectangle shape. Step 2: Spread peanut butter over strawberries. Freeze for 20 minutes. Step 3: Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave. Step 4: Drizzle melted chocolate over the peanut butter. Sprinkle with sea salt. Freeze again until set, about 20-30 minutes. Step 5: Cut or break the bark into pieces. Enjoy immediately or store in the freezer.
Substitutions & Notes
Make it nut-free: To make this bark nut-free, simple use sunflower seed butter or skip the peanut butter all together and just do strawberries and chocolate. Lower in sugar: As I mentioned above, I like using low sugar chocolate chips for this treat. I like Lily’s dark chocolate chips or Hu Kitchen’s no sugar added chocolate chips.
How to Store
This chocolate peanut butter strawberry bark should be stored in an air-tight container in the freezer. It should stay good for a month, but it definitely didn’t last that long over here.
