How to Make Homemade Baked Pita Chips
Homemade chips made out of just four ingredients? You better believe it. These chips are super simple to make and can be whipped up in no time to wow your friends and family. Start by separating out the pita pockets and cut each into four triangles or wedges, just by cutting the pita in half twice. Once you have the wedges, you’ll want to separate them so you get 8 thin wedges/chips instead of 4 thick chips. This will help you achieve crispy, delicious pita chips. You can separate the pita pocket using your hands or a knife, but I like using kitchen scissors to cut along the outside edge to create super clean cuts. If you want to get creative, feel free to cut into other shapes or even strips. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Use a brush to brush each side of the pita pieces with the oil mixture and arrange on a baking sheet. Make sure none of your pieces are overlapped so they all get nice and crispy. Bake for five minutes, flip and bake for another five minutes or until golden brown. Name an easier recipe… I’ll wait. 😉 I love eating these pita chips with homemade hummus. Serve them on their own for an appetizer, with chopped veggies for a veggie platter, or with a falafel bowl for a full meal.
