4.11 27 Published Jul 02, 2024, Updated Jul 10, 2024 It’s the perfect refreshing treat to enjoy on hot summer days while we’re hanging out at the pool and it satisfies my ice cream craving (which is in full force during the summer months!).
Ingredients Needed
plain Greek yogurt – can’t have frozen yogurt without the yogurt! I prefer using full-fat, plain Greek yogurt, which is thicker and a bit more rich, but feel free to use 2% yogurt or non-fat yogurt if that’s what you have on hand. frozen blueberries – provide natural sweetness and a refreshing burst of flavor. maple syrup – this is totally optional if you want a touch more sweetness. I usually skip this, but you do you!
How to Make Blueberry Frozen Yogurt
This recipe couldn’t be any easier to make! It’s ready in just 5 minutes.
Chocolate – add in 1/2-1 Tablespoon cacao powder or cocoa powder plus chocolate chips or cacao nibs for a chocolate-y treat! Swap the fruit – swap the blueberries with a different frozen berry of choice like strawberries or raspberries. If you want a different fruit all together try this banana frozen yogurt instead. Nutty – blend in a spoonful of almond butter or peanut butter and drizzle extra on top for a rich, nutty flavor.
Topping Ideas
I love serving this frozen yogurt as is or with a few fresh berries, but there are so many different options when it comes to topping ideas. Here’s some to get you started:
Fresh berries: Add fresh blueberries, strawberries or raspberries for a nice berry treat. Granola: Sprinkle some granola on top for a bit of crunch. Nuts and seeds: Chopped almonds, walnuts, or chia seeds provide a nice crunch and boost of healthy fats. Coconut flakes: Unsweetened coconut flakes add a tropical touch and additional texture. I also love toasted coconut, which would add a nice flavor. Honey or maple syrup: Drizzle a bit of honey or maple syrup for added sweetness. Nut butter: Sometimes I’ll add a drizzle of almond butter or peanut butter when serving. The combo is so good! Cacao nibs or chocolate chips: For a chocolatey crunch, sprinkle some cacao nibs or chocolate chips on top.
How to Store
Frozen blueberry yogurt can be stored for about one month in a sealed container in the freezer. When you’re ready to enjoy it again, let it sit out at room temperature for a few minutes to soften up before scooping. It’s as simple as that!
