Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe

You only need 3 main ingredients to make this: cream, whole milk, and sugar. Also vanilla extract because, duh, vanilla. The proportions are 2 parts cream to 1 part milk, plus sugar to taste. I do more or less sugar depending on what I’m adding into my ice cream. If I’m going to swirl in caramel or candy for example, I’ll make the base a little less sweet. If I’m adding in tart fruit or leaving it plain, I do a little more....

Eat Pray Love

A few weeks ago my husband, children and I made the familiar drive from our home in Boise, Idaho to my hometown of Seattle, Washington. We’ve made the drive a hundred times before, but this time was different. I was going home to be with my Mom. To say goodbye to my Mom. She fought a courageous battle with a multitude of physical trials over the past 13 years, among them being a destructively progressive case of MS and a major brain injury....

French Silk Pie

Do you guys have those moments in your life that you always think back to when you’re referencing past events? Like…was that before or after my first child was born? Was that before or after we moved across the country? Or got married? Or started a new job or bought a house? Five years ago (and honestly, in so many ways, it feels like a lifetime ago), my husband and I had just moved to Louisiana....

Fresh Grapefruit Vinaigrette

I feel like I should preface this post with one simple fact: I don’t really like grapefruit. I like anything and everything grapefruit flavored or scented- it’s one of my favorites, actually. But just eating plain grapefruit is never something I’ve been able to get behind. So if you’re like me, keep in mind that the grapefruit is used as an acid here, and when blended with all of these flavors, it’s super spectacular....

Fudgy Black Bean Brownies

4.65 308 Published Feb 08, 2024, Updated Jun 20, 2024 They’re a breeze to whip up and come out tasting moist, fudgy and plenty sweet. And trust me, nobody will even be able to tell that they’re made with black beans. They get blended up in your food processor and are completely undetectable. The beans essentially just replace flour, plus they add some fiber and protein. I’ve tried other black bean brownie recipes before and none have turned out as good as this recipe, if I do say so myself!...

Garlic Herb Lemon Vinaigrette And Marinade

I don’t necessarily like this trait about myself and so this spring, I put some fresh herbs in pots on my patio and have resolved to keep them alive until the rain this fall kills them for me. A month later, I am happy to report that my herbs are not only still alive but thriving and I’m actively looking for ways to use them (I used my basil in this pasta sauce recipe and my thyme in these meatloaves)....

Ginormous Bubbles

We have an awesome basic giant bubble recipe, but I saw these awhile back and wanted to take things to the next level. Once we got the hang of things, they were huge–like some of them were 15-20 feet long. You’re going to need a few supplies that you probably don’t have lurking in your cupboards: *Baking powder. This improves the longevity and strength of the bubbles. *2 wooden dowels *About 6-7 feet of 100% cotton yarn (the thicker the better) *Optional: A weight to help the yarn from getting tangled....

Green Moong Dal Recipe Stovetop And Instant Pot Method

Dal is a staple dish in most punjabi homes. This tasty dal of whole green moong is kind of homely dal that we eat on regular basis. It’s an Indian comfort food that we enjoy with roti, paratha or rice....

Green Shakshuka

5 6 Published Jan 06, 2022, Updated Jun 04, 2024 What is Shakshuka? Traditional shakshuka (also spelled shakshouka or chakchouka) is a dish of eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, usually with olive oil, peppers, onion and garlic, as well as, spices. From my online research it seems as though the dish originated in North Africa. That said the dish has existed for centuries and is popular in Palestine, Israel, Egypt and other countries in the Middle East as well....

Grilled Chicken With Cucumber Melon Salsa

One night when we were on Leg 1 of our trip (visiting my parents), I made this. It was so delicious and refreshing and healthy that I couldn’t wait to make it again. The salsa sounds a tiny bit weird, but it’s delicious–I mean, if you’re not keen on fruit and meat (I do know that’s a “thing”), this might not be your thing, but it’s so super easy and it’s just feel-good food, especially as we get into the summer months....

Healthy Breads Baking Whole Wheat Pizza That Is Totally Guiltfree Recipe My Tasty Curry

Pizza has become somewhat equivalent to indulgence, a convenience that we order when feeling lazy or in no mood to cook. Most of the time this indulgence comes with a tag of junk food.
